The short version. A handful of cookies keep you logged in — those can't be turned off, because without them the app doesn't work. Everything else is optional. If you're visiting from the EU, the wider EEA, the UK or Switzerland, it stays off until you say yes, and you can change your mind whenever you like: cookie settings. Elsewhere, where the law doesn't ask us to, we don't show a banner and these run from the start.

How consent works here
We work out from your connection which country you're in. In the EU, the rest of the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you get a banner, and no optional cookie is set before you choose. The Lemon Squeezy affiliate script is blocked outright until you accept advertising. Google's tags load straight away but in Google's "consent denied" mode: they set no cookies and read no identifiers, and only send Google a cookieless ping (your IP address, the page, and the fact that consent is denied) so it can estimate, not track, how many visitors came from an ad. Accepting a category switches that category on. Rejecting keeps Google's tags in that cookieless, identifier-free mode for the rest of your visit — the pings continue, nothing is stored on your device. We never fall back to fingerprinting.
Outside those places there's no banner: the tags below run from your first page view, as local law allows.
Your choice is stored in a cookie called cc_cookie for 6 months, then we ask again. Clearing your browser data resets it.
Strictly necessary
These make the site work. They can't be switched off, and none of them are used to track you across other websites.

Google Tag Manager loads these tags. Where a banner is shown, it runs in consent-denied mode until you accept this category.
Plausible and Cloudflare Web Analytics — no consent needed
We also use Plausible, which sets no cookies, stores no personal data and can't follow you between websites. Because it collects nothing that identifies you, it runs without consent — and there's nothing to opt out of.
Cloudflare, which sits in front of our servers, adds its own Web Analytics script to our pages. It works the same way: no cookies, no identifiers stored on your device, no tracking across sites — just aggregate page views and load times, so we can tell when the site is slow. It runs everywhere, consent or not, for the same reason Plausible does.
Advertising — optional
Lets us know when someone signed up after clicking one of our ads, and credits the affiliate who referred you. Declining doesn't mean more ads — just that we learn less about which ones were worth paying for.

We use Google Consent Mode. Where a banner is shown, until you accept this category Google's tags receive a signal that consent was denied and are not permitted to store or read identifiers on your device; they only send cookieless pings, as described above.
Changing your mind
If you were shown the banner, open cookie settings and toggle whatever you like — it takes effect immediately, and anything you switch off stops running. If you weren't, your browser's cookie controls are the way to block these.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser directly. Note that browser settings apply to every site at once and can't distinguish between categories, so the panel above gives you finer control. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will stop you being able to sign in.
